The Great American
Southwest
An epic 1,200-mile loop through the heart of the high desert. From the neon lights of Vegas to the celestial spires of Zion and the crimson depths of the Grand Canyon.
Zion's Crimson Cathedrals
Leaving the neon haze of Vegas behind, you'll head north into the Virgin River Valley. Zion National Park is a place that feels prehistoric and holy all at once. The massive sandstone cliffs range from cream to pink to red, and the floor of the canyon is a lush green oasis.
If you only have one day, take the shuttle to Temple of Sinawava and walk the Narrows. Be prepared to get your feet wet — the river is your trail.
The Spires of Bryce & Page
Just a short drive from Zion sits Bryce Canyon, which isn't a canyon at all but a collection of giant natural amphitheaters. The hoodoos — oddly shaped rock pillars — form a forest of stone that defies logic.
Local's tip: Horseshoe Bend
Visit at sunrise to avoid the crowds and see the shadows play across the river's curve. It's a short 1.5-mile round trip hike that pays off with one of the most photographed views in the world.
The Grand Finale
No trip to the Southwest is complete without the big one. The Grand Canyon's South Rim offers the classic, world-ending vistas that remind you how small we really are. Spend your final days exploring the Rim Trail or taking a helicopter tour for a perspective only the birds get.
El Tovar Dining Room
Gourmet meals with a rim-side view.
Bright Angel Lodge

Desert View Drive
